Group Piano Lessons Suitable for Children Aged 5 at PIANO ACADEMIE
Are you wondering what is the best way for your child to start piano lessons? At PIANO ACADEMIE, we have developed a unique learning method for children aged 5 to 6, based on group lessons. These lessons not only promote an introduction to the piano during the first two years, but are also adapted to their ability to concentrate.
Our teaching method is based on three essential elements adapted to this age group:
- Competition: a powerful motivator among the very young, but less so among teenagers.
- Mimicry: children learn by imitating their teacher or their classmates.
- Listening: they develop their listening skills by concentrating not only on their teacher, but also on other pupils.
Our founder, Mi-Young LEE, designed these piano lessons for children so that learning in groups is more effective than individual teaching. The course alternates between individual exercises and group activities, thus promoting a dynamic learning experience.
Most children at PIANO ACADEMIE begin their learning journey with these group lessons. Once they have reached a certain level of autonomy and maturity, we then integrate them into our more advanced group lessons. With 9 years of experience behind us, we can say that group lessons are much more effective than individual lessons. The results obtained are quite simply incomparable.
However, we also offer private lessons for children who have difficulty integrating into a group or who have specific learning difficulties.

The course of a group lesson
- 1 hour of piano lessons with a mix of individual and group exercises.
- Music theory: music theory is studied separately for 30 minutes, in a different time slot. Online courses are organized especially for young children.

Practical details
Course location
We offer these group lessons in our various premises every day at 4 or 5 pm, all day Wednesdays and Saturday mornings.
You can also form a group at home. In that case, the instructor will come at a time that suits you. You will then be able to benefit from the tax reduction or tax credit scheme.
Prices
Group lessons are charged by the hour.
Participation in group lessons involves certain constraints that must be accepted in advance by the students:
- No absence from a group class may be the subject of a request for a make-up class or a refund.
- Children must do the exercises set by their teacher during the week. A child not keeping up with the group may be required to take extra lessons through our Allo Piano system.

Children’s Registration Kit (285€):
The Enrolment Kit includes what each student needs to attend the school. It includes the following items:
- the annual application fee,
- the child’s participation in the end-of-year concert,
- the two annual auditions,
- the necessary scores (Solfège and Ecole) and workbooks,
- the note and rhythm sets
- Score for end-of-year concert

Trial course
This course is not compulsory, but will give you a better understanding of our method before you commit to the school year. We recommend the course to all parents who are not yet familiar with the school or who are hesitating between private or group lessons.
