Group Piano Lessons for 5-year-olds at PIANO ACADEMIE

Wondering what’s the best way for your child to start piano lessons? At PIANO ACADEMIE, we’ve developed a unique learning method for children aged 5 to 6, based on group lessons. These classes not only provide an introduction to the piano in the first two years, but are also adapted to their ability to concentrate.

Our teaching method is based on three essential elements adapted to this age group:

Emulation: a powerful springboard for younger children, which may be less present in teenagers.
Mimicry: children learn by imitating their teacher or classmates.
Listening: they develop their listening skills by focusing not only on their teacher, but also on other students.

Our founder, Mi-Young LEE, has designed these piano lessons for children so that group learning is more effective than individual instruction. The course alternates between individual exercises and group activities, promoting a dynamic learning experience.

Most PIANO ACADEMIE children begin their learning journey with these group lessons. When they reach a certain level of independence and maturity, we then integrate them into our more advanced group lessons. Based on our 8 years of experience, we can confirm that group courses are far more effective than individual lessons. The results are simply incomparable. However, we also offer private lessons for children who find it difficult to fit into a group or who have specific learning difficulties. How a group lesson works

1h piano lesson with alternating individual and group exercises.
Solfeggio: solfeggio is studied separately for 30 minutes, in a separate time slot.
Online lessons are organized especially for young children.

Practical details

Course locations

We offer these group courses at our various locations every day at 4 or 5 pm, on Wednesdays all day and on Saturday mornings. You can also set up a group at home. In this case, the teacher will come to you at a time that suits you. You can then benefit from the tax reduction or credit scheme.

Online course

The group course also works online. Each child stays at home, and the group then meets to study together for an hour.

Pricing

Group courses are billed by the hour.

Participation in group classes implies certain constraints which must be accepted in advance by the students:

No absence from a group lesson can be made up or reimbursed.
Children must do the exercises requested by their teacher during the week.
If a child does not keep up with the pace of the group, he or she may be required to take extra lessons through our Allo Piano system.

Children’s Registration Kit (285€):

The Enrolment Kit includes what each student needs to attend the school. It includes the following items:

the annual application fee,
the child’s participation in the end-of-year concert,
the two annual auditions,
the necessary scores (Solfège and Ecole) and workbooks,
the note and rhythm sets
Score for end-of-year concert

Trial course

This course is not compulsory, but it will give you a better understanding of our method before you commit to the school year. We recommend it to all parents who are new to the school or who are unsure whether to take a private or group class.
