Group courses Teenagers (12-16 years)
Piano Académie

Group piano lessons designed for teenagers

From the age of 12, expectations change. Teenagers need a more stimulating, freer and more mature framework, allowing them to make serious progress without losing the pleasure of playing.

Our group piano lessons for teenagers combine high standards, autonomy and group energy. Each student progresses at their own pace, chooses their pieces, works with the teacher and benefits from the motivation of the group.

Teenage piano classes

A serious, motivating and flexible format for teenagers who want to progress while keeping the pleasure of music.

Why this format works particularly well at this age

The group lesson offers a lively and motivating environment. Teenagers work individually while benefiting from the momentum of the group, the teacher’s guidance and a more engaging atmosphere than a format that would feel too rigid.

  • A stimulating and friendly atmosphere
  • Up to 10 students per class
  • Time slots adapted to teenagers
  • Serious progress without unnecessary rigidity

A more autonomous approach

Inspired by our competition preparation classes, our organisation alternates between time spent working with the teacher and personal practice on a digital keyboard. The student learns to concentrate, listen to their own playing and gradually build genuine musical autonomy.

The teacher guides each student with precision, without overloading them. This gives every teenager the space they need to progress with greater responsibility and enjoyment.

Teenage student playing piano in a collective class

Autonomy and concentration

The student learns to listen, repeat, correct and gradually become more independent at the piano.

A complete course plan

The annual package also includes an online music theory lesson, designed to strengthen reading, rhythm and sight-reading. The objective is to offer a coherent and useful pathway, directly connected to instrumental practice.

Online music theory included

The course reinforces reading, rhythm and understanding of the score.

A direct link with piano practice

Music theory is used as a practical tool to support instrumental progress.

Mixed adult-teen classes

Since September 2023, some time slots have been opened as mixed adult-teen classes.

A shared musical experience

This format also answers requests from families who sometimes wish to share the same musical experience.

Why Choose Early Childhood Music at Piano Académie?

Discover the future of musical learning for young children at Piano Académie! Our academy is distinguished by a revolutionary teaching method, specially designed for children aged 3 and over, which awakens musical potential while contributing to the child’s overall development.

A Unique Method for Young Minds

Our unique pedagogical approach uses sign language to introduce children to the world of music, focusing on awakening each finger. More than a simple preparation for the piano, our method promotes holistic development, based on four fundamental pillars: concentration, memorization, motor skills and empathy.

  • Concentration: Combining musical notes with specific signs captures children’s attention, improving their ability to concentrate.
  • Memorization: Repeating signs reinforces memory, enabling rapid and lasting assimilation of concepts.
  • Fine motor skills: The precise gestures required for sign language prepare the hands for learning to play the piano, improving coordination and agility.
  • Empathy: Learning sign language opens the door to more inclusive communication, teaching children the value of diversity and mutual understanding.

An Educational and Creative Journey

At Piano Académie, we believe that learning music is an enriching adventure that should begin at an early age. Our program doesn’t just prepare your child to become a pianist; it provides a solid foundation for his or her intellectual, emotional and social development.

Join the Piano Académie Adventure

Ready to offer your child this exceptional educational experience? Join Piano Académie and discover the seven notes of music. Each note is a step towards self-fulfilment, each sign a step towards mastery of the piano. Let’s explore the horizons of learning and creativity together.

With Piano Académie, prepare your child to vibrate to the rhythm of music and life. Embark on a unique adventure where every note played is a smile earned!

Content of the courses

  • Introduction to piano – 3 to 5 years
Children will learn the piece “Trampoline
On each half day, there are 30 minutes of piano work and 2h30 of activities, which allow the discovery of the world of musical notes and the piano
  • In the morning:
Meeting with the 7 friends: the Dolphin, the Alarm Clock, the Thousand Legs, the Pharaoh, the Soldier, the Lama and the Mermaid, who will bring us the musical notes.
Neighbors’ games (discovery of second intervals)
Treasure hunt: the pirates have hidden the C treasure on the piano. We have to find the treasures, on a carpet piano, with our feet, and then on the acoustic piano with our fingers.
  • Afternoon:
Creation of a model that represents the story of the Pirates of the 7 friends, and the musical notes,
Learning the song of the notes “C D E”, with choreography.
  • Piano Booster (6 to 17 years old – All levels)
Children will be able to choose the piece of their choice.
For each half day there will be 2 hours of piano work and 1 hour of activities that will enrich the interpretation and understanding of the piece to make it more alive.
  • In the morning, we will see how to transmit emotions with a piano, we will work on the research of the different colors, and we will make the parallel between the piece and a painting.
  • In the afternoon we will create our own story around the piece and we will make a model that represents a story around the piece.
We will make the connection between music and other arts. The activities will be adapted according to the age of the participants.
On the last day of the workshop (Friday at 7pm) we will have a small concert.

The concept of group piano lessons for adults - in person

Established since 2021, our group lessons for adults are enjoying well-deserved success. Piano Académie wanted to respond to the specific demand of many adults, namely to offer lessons at specific times, with affordable prices and the flexibility to allow changes without financial penalty.
  • Our group lessons for adults allow everyone to work on the piece they want. This is important to maintain motivation throughout the learning process.
  • In addition, Mi-Young LEE’s highly structured method allows for continuous learning with steady and solid progress.
  • This method works for students of all levels, including beginners!
  • A digital medium is created for each piece, enabling students to find the fingerings learned during their lesson.
  • The recommended learning pace is one lesson per week. However, nothing prevents a student from taking several lessons in a week or from not coming at all!

An original method

Take your piano lesson as if you were going to the gym!
  • You start with an assessment, and choose the piece you want to learn,
  • Alternating exercises and rehearsals with headphones and passages with your teacher/coach,
  • Groups of 10 students maximum,
  • 1-hour classes

The trial lesson

Before choosing one of our two enrollment options, it is essential to schedule a trial session with one of our teachers. This 1-hour session will help you gain a thorough understanding of the teaching methodology adopted by our school. Together, we will choose the first piece you will study. Our aim is to guide you so that you can play your first piece in less than two months, even if you are a beginner. For students who already have some piano experience, we also offer transcriptions adapted to all levels and musical styles.

Musical evenings

The school frequently organizes meetings in the form of lectures and concerts, offering a great opportunity for our students to meet and share their passion for music. These events take place in our space at 1 Rue Richelieu, 75001, and we are pleased to offer our students free access to these special occasions, while their families can benefit from a preferential rate.

Good to know

Play your favorite tune straight away!

The first stage, “Review”, consists of choosing with the student the first piece they want to learn to play. Here, there is no easy method or other simplified pieces. We have transcribed more than a hundred scores and adapted them so that beginners and experienced students alike can quickly start enjoying themselves. Of course, all styles of music are on offer!
Nor do we ask students to play for several hours a day. Regularity of work is important, and with 15 to 20 minutes of work a day, you’ll achieve surprising results! Age is not a problem. It’s true that as you get older, it will be more difficult to play very fast passages. Fortunately, the classical repertoire offers a wide range of works to suit every taste!

Music theory lessons for adults

included in the subscription and charged at €5/lesson for other packages, these lessons last 30 minutes and take place once a week on Zoom, on Mondays or Thursdays at 21:00. The objective is to teach the basic music theory needed to decipher a score. This module is structured in 8 lessons (1 lesson per week). Between each lesson, exercises are proposed every day to reinforce the topics learned. The exercises are then corrected automatically, allowing for better follow-up.

The Piano Académie approach

A method that places the child at the centre

In this dynamic setting, one teacher supervises up to six children at the same time. This format encourages emulation, listening, concentration and more autonomous progress. Music theory is offered separately online, but is included in the annual package.

3500+

Individualised group lessons

An exacting, lively and motivating setting

Students work individually while benefiting from the energy of the group. This organisation allows the teacher to intervene precisely, while each child learns to think, correct and repeat independently.

Each session alternates individual keyboard work and personalised guidance from the teacher. The student learns to repeat, memorise and move forward with greater independence, while remaining fully guided.

Individual work

Each student works on their own piece and progresses at their own pace.

Teacher guidance

The teacher circulates, corrects, demonstrates and gives precise instructions.

Group energy

Children are stimulated by the presence of others while keeping a personalised path.
