Group Piano Lessons for Teens : Dynamic and effective at PIANO ACADEMIE
Discover our piano lessons for teenagers, a new approach introduced in 2022 that builds on the proven methodology of our group lessons. Specially designed for young people aged 12 and over, these group classes offer a dynamic and enriching learning experience.
Teens benefit from tailored time slots, fostering their commitment and motivation. Each class can accommodate up to 10 students, fostering a friendly and stimulating atmosphere. Students have the opportunity to work individually, while benefiting from the support of their peers and the guidance of their teacher.
Learning method
The structure of these courses is inspired by our preparation classes for international competitions. In the space of an hour, students alternate between work sessions with their teacher and individual exercises on a digital keyboard. Unlike private lessons, our approach encourages autonomy: the teacher guides the student without overloading them, leaving each young person free to work at their own pace and choose their own pieces.
We also offer a separate online music theory course, included in the annual package. This comprehensive offer enables students to benefit from a complete musical training.

From September 2023, we’re expanding our offer with more slots, mixing adults and teenagers. Many parents want to share this learning experience with their child, and these mixed classes perfectly meet this demand. To reflect this evolution, our rates have been adjusted, while maintaining our annual commitment to a chosen slot.

Content of the courses
- Introduction to piano – 3 to 5 years
Children will learn the piece “Trampoline
On each half day, there are 30 minutes of piano work and 2h30 of activities, which allow the discovery of the world of musical notes and the piano - In the morning:
Meeting with the 7 friends: the Dolphin, the Alarm Clock, the Thousand Legs, the Pharaoh, the Soldier, the Lama and the Mermaid, who will bring us the musical notes.
Neighbors’ games (discovery of second intervals)
Treasure hunt: the pirates have hidden the C treasure on the piano. We have to find the treasures, on a carpet piano, with our feet, and then on the acoustic piano with our fingers. - Afternoon:
Creation of a model that represents the story of the Pirates of the 7 friends, and the musical notes,
Learning the song of the notes “C D E”, with choreography.
- Piano Booster (6 to 17 years old – All levels)
Children will be able to choose the piece of their choice.
For each half day there will be 2 hours of piano work and 1 hour of activities that will enrich the interpretation and understanding of the piece to make it more alive. - In the morning, we will see how to transmit emotions with a piano, we will work on the research of the different colors, and we will make the parallel between the piece and a painting.
- In the afternoon we will create our own story around the piece and we will make a model that represents a story around the piece.
We will make the connection between music and other arts. The activities will be adapted according to the age of the participants.
On the last day of the workshop (Friday at 7pm) we will have a small concert.
Concert
- On Friday, April 29th we propose to the children to do a small concert at 7pm. Participation in this little concert is not mandatory, but we highly recommend it. It will be a very nice moment to share all together.
- The concert will take place at 1, rue de Richelieu 75001 in the new school
- Only children who have done at least 5 half days of training can participate in the concert
- For all ages 3-17 years

Organizing a recital in Paris
A 50-seat concert hall and a Bösendorfer 1/2-tail enable you to organise a recital in a prestigious setting just a stone’s throw from the Comédie Française.
We can provide you with an online ticket office and hostesses to welcome your guests.
On the upper floor, there is a space where you can organise a cocktail party after your concert.
We limit the capacity to 50 people.
Evening and Sunday afternoon hire available.
Pricing
Option 1: fixed price service
- Rental for a period of 2.5 hours.
- Price: €600 excluding VAT.
- The rental company sets the admission price. The rental company is also responsible for admission control.
- Rehearsal: you will be able to access the piano to rehearse 1h30 before the start of the concert.
- The piano is tuned regularly – however, if you would like it tuned for this booking, we will ask you for an additional fee for the tuning of the piano. price 150€ incl. VAT.
- It is possible to organize a cocktail reception after the concert. Please note that the sale of drinks is not permitted.
The concept of group piano lessons for adults - in person
Established since 2021, our group lessons for adults are enjoying well-deserved success. Piano Académie wanted to respond to the specific demand of many adults, namely to offer lessons at specific times, with affordable prices and the flexibility to allow changes without financial penalty.
- Our group lessons for adults allow everyone to work on the piece they want. This is important to maintain motivation throughout the learning process.
- In addition, Mi-Young LEE’s highly structured method allows for continuous learning with steady and solid progress.
- This method works for students of all levels, including beginners!
- A digital medium is created for each piece, enabling students to find the fingerings learned during their lesson.
- The recommended learning pace is one lesson per week. However, nothing prevents a student from taking several lessons in a week or from not coming at all!

The trial lesson
Before choosing one of our two enrollment options, it is essential to schedule a trial session with one of our teachers. This 1-hour session will help you gain a thorough understanding of the teaching methodology adopted by our school. Together, we will choose the first piece you will study. Our aim is to guide you so that you can play your first piece in less than two months, even if you are a beginner. Musical evenings
The school frequently organizes meetings in the form of lectures and concerts, offering a great opportunity for our students to meet and share their passion for music. These events take place in our space at 1 Rue Richelieu, 75001, and we are pleased to offer our students free access to these special occasions, while their families can benefit from a preferential rate.
Good to know
Play your favorite tune straight away!
The first stage, “Review”, consists of choosing with the student the first piece they want to learn to play. Here, there is no easy method or other simplified pieces. We have transcribed more than a hundred scores and adapted them so that beginners and experienced students alike can quickly start enjoying themselves. Of course, all styles of music are on offer!
Nor do we ask students to play for several hours a day. Regularity of work is important, and with 15 to 20 minutes of work a day, you’ll achieve surprising results!
Age is not a problem. It’s true that as you get older, it will be more difficult to play very fast passages. Fortunately, the classical repertoire offers a wide range of works to suit every taste!
Music theory lessons for adults
included in the subscription and charged at €5/lesson for other packages, these lessons last 30 minutes and take place once a week on Zoom, on Mondays or Thursdays at 21:00.
The objective is to teach the basic music theory needed to decipher a score. This module is structured in 8 lessons (1 lesson per week).
Between each lesson, exercises are proposed every day to reinforce the topics learned. The exercises are then corrected automatically, allowing for better follow-up.

The children here work individually, as opposed to our group lessons designed for 5-year-olds.We also offer separate online music theory lessons, included in the annual package, for a complete musical education.
Our group lessons represent 95% of all PIANO ACADEMIE lessons.
More than 3500 group lessons were given at the school during the year 2024-2025. They are the backbone of our pedagogical approach and have enabled 100% of our students preparing for competitions to work effectively in groups.

The Registration Kit for children (€300):
The Registration Kit includes everything each pupil needs to follow the school’s courses. It includes the following items:- annual administrative fees (reduced from January 1st),
- the child’s participation in the end-of-year concert,
- one to two auditions per semester,
- sheet music (music theory and piano) and workbooks, necessary homework,
- note and rhythm games
- 1 Sheet music for the end-of-year concert
Online courses: the Enrolment Kit for children (€165):
The Enrolment Kit includes what each student needs to follow the school’s courses. It includes the following items:- the annual application fee (reduced from 1 January 2024),
- the sheet music (Solfège and School) and workbooks required,
